Description
A well-figured stock with chequered butt and straight grip. The trigger guard tang and forenf engraved ‘1’. Replaced nitro-barrels 1978, the rib engraved ‘BARRELS BY BENJAMIN WILD & SON BIRMINGHAM’, automatic safety with gold inlaid SAFE, the top lever blued and finely engraved, cocking indicators, striker discs, fences highlighted with channelling adorned with foliate to fern engraving. Very fine acanthus engraving throughout, STEPHEN GRANT & SONS modestly engraved to the lower of each lock. In the manufacturer’s leather-covered, oak-framed case – near serial number. For 1897.

Additional Comments,
Silvering to muzzle and breech. The action bright with some small patches of light tarnishing. The engraving sharp to the locks, softened to the trigger guard and tang. The stock replaced and pleasantly refurbished.
