Fine, metal butt plate with ‘2’ engraved on the top tang, chequered straight grip and forend. Damascus barrels having been refinished, platinum plugs, engraved ‘781’, the rib engraved ‘1’ and worn maker’s engraving. Lower tang engraved ‘782’ and ‘2’. Bar-action locks, deep fences, engraved hammers, the locks with acanthus scroll, simple border and ‘THOMAS BOSS’. 1813 rules of proof. For 1846/47.
