Description
Extended ebonite chequered butt, richly figured, chequered straight grip and forend, the finials with ‘1’ and ‘2’ inlaid in gold as to the ribs. Broad, concave rib with embellishments to the breech end, engraved ‘JOSEPH LANG & SON. 10. PALL MALL. LONDON.’, doll’s head extension, treble grip action, intercepting sears, hold open top lever (with ‘1’ and ‘2’ inlaid in gold), automatic safety with ‘SAFE’ inlaid in gold. The action delicately engraved throughout with acanthus scrolling and delightful, varied, border detail. For 1892. Reproved London 1989.

Additional Comments, The finish lifted on the butt extension, plentiful fine marks, one deeper scratch and ding both repairable. Two small marks to the chequering, otherwise only lightly softened. The forend with only fine marks. The action bright with some vestigial light tarnishing and markings. The barrels with little sign of use, bright. No 2 Proof .736, .736,

Additional Comments, The finish with light marks from what appears to be bubble wrap, a repair to the heel, other small dings, extensive very fine scratches. Vestigial chip to the toe. the chequering only lightly softened. The forend with a repair to the rear. The action bright with some vestigial light tarnishing and markings. The barrels with very light silvered edges to the muzzle and breech.
