Description
Cushioned rubber butt pad, chequered straight grip and forend. The rib engraved and inlaid ‘WR PAPE. NEWCASTLE ON TYNE. INVENTOR OF THE CHOKE BORE’. Hackett-type snap-on splinter forend with horn finial, Jones’ rotary underlever, back action, non-rebounding hares’ ears hammers, top lever. The action delicately adorned with hunting scenes, acanthus highlights and scroll border. For 1887. Sleeved 1978 & 2010.

Additional Comments, Light silvering to muzzle. The action bright having undergone some restoration The stock nicely figured with a fine patina, a small dent to the LHS and a repaired split to the LHS at the head. The bores bright with some small frosted patches.
