A 12 BORE OVER & UNDER Ser No 5960
For June 1915. A interesting example of a early 20th Cent German over and under. Perished butt pad, stock in the Bavarian style, Pistol grip with horn end cap engraved with an avian scene, the vegetation inlaid in silver. Quite exquisite. 10mm rib, the barrels engraved ‘FLUSS STAHL KRUPP ESSEN’, the breech engraved ‘AUG JUNG VIERNAU TH.’ Scroll back action, cocking indicators (RHS absent), wonderfully decorated with a slightly chaotic menage of an avian scene, hounds, acanthus leaf etc etc.
