Ribbed, hard rubber butt, figured stock, chequered straight grip and forend. Both Damascus barrels, black powder proved barrels with 1875- 87 proof marks, with broad rib. Nitro-proved barrels (Birmingham 1966) original proof 1887 – 96, with machine-finished broad rib and folding notched leaf rearsight. Rotary underlever, non rebounding hammers, back action locks, carved fences. The action simply edged. Scotarms Lot No 258

Chequering softened, numerous small dents, a filled repair to rear of right hand lock, the action bright albeit tarnished with fine pitting. The nitro-proved barrels with a beautiful, rich finish, the black powder barrels browned.
