ADAMS A FINE CASED 1851 PATENT DRAGOON REVOLVER 54-BORE Circa 1854 Ser No 15015R
Chequered walnut butt, blued octagonal barrel with post foresight, the top-strap engraved ‘DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE 30. KING WILLIAM ST, ,T. LONDON BRIDGE.’, plain cylinder with London proof marks, engraved ‘No 15015R.’, Single-line, border engraved blued frame engraved ‘ADAMS’ PATENT. No. 15015. R.’ with bright safety-stop, arbor pin and arbor pin catch, the fore stamped ’54’, ‘D, A&D’, browned trigger-guard and butt-trap. In original lined and fitted oak case with brass bullet mould for round and conical bullets both with tails (for retaining wads), James Dixon flask, screwdrivers, cap removal tool, oil bottle with matching serial number, ram rod and key to original lock. 54-Bore – .442"

All wear and condition entirely appropriate with age. The barrel with fine markings throughout and on top edge and muzzle. The top strap with small dent to rear left, the underside lightly pitted. The loading recess with very fine, vestigial pitting. Two small dents to face of cylinder. The butt with small crack (3/16") to right hand side at the base. the chequering pleasingly softened. Finish - the cylinder with 30% original case hardening remaining, the frame and barrel intact, the top strap 40% worn, the trigger guard with some wear, the butt cap half- worn. The barrel pitted with good rifling.
