Finely engraved metal tips to the heel and toe, richly figured stock with chequered straight grip and forend, the pistol grip tang extending along the stock. Damascus barrels not nitro-proved, the rib with worn engraving. Percussion fences, non-rebounding ‘S’-curved hammers with hare’s ear spurs, side lever operating the patented slide-and-tilt action. The action of dark colour, decorated with fine acanthus elaboration, ‘J.D. DOUGALL’ scroll-mounted to the plates. The underside engraved, partially worn ‘DOUGALL’S PATENT LOCK F……..’
